Origins

It's o.k. to believe. I started Legends Press because I had a story to tell. I believe in our stories; I believe in America's unique place in comics. I believe in my unique place here. I want to tell stories with and for you. I don't believe heroes are perfect, I believe the best in us is always willing to learn. The ultimate seed to growth.

Founder and Editor in Chief- Quinn McGowan

Legends Press began with a Superhero tale. Wildfire took shape over decades while his creator Quinn McGowan grew, perfected his craft, and reflected more and more on who Wildfire was. No longer just a powerful hero in the midst of great internal turmoil, Wildfire emerged as a fully developed young man, Will Watson III. He was an amalgamation of the past, present and future, much like the company itself.

While pursuing his art as a licensed tattoo and body artist, Quinn and his partner Mic began toying around with alter egos- WarBear and Battlebunny respectively. They would pass the time crafting Spy vs Spy like scenarios in which the two mad animals devised more and more elaborate ways to destroy one another. After a while, they had enough material, and "episodes" to create Wild Kingdoms, Legends Press first publication. Shortly thereafter, Quinn picked his Wildfire character back up, garnered the attention of an international team of artists, writers, animators and fans, and founded Legends Press.  Since then, he has convinced his loving and patient wife to join him in his adventures, and they built an all star team of artists, writers, musicians and developers.

This is the team, and we exist because Legends, PRESS!

Toy Division (Collectibles) and Music Production

Paragon

The man known as Paragon had very early influences in both music and art, his mother was a portrait artist and a pianist. She encouraged a young Paragon to pursue other interests. He began drawing his own comic characters, mimicking the style of the comics that his mother purchased for him. he would later move on to become a portrait artist himself, and also an airbrush artist working in various malls and stores. He took piano lessons at the behest of his mother starting at age 8. At age 15 young Paragon would move on to become a DJ. After 15 years, Paragon the DJ would transform in to Paragon the producer, going on to work with various local and national artists. Now Paragon has the opportunity to combine both his music and artistic talents for the great publishing company known as Legends Press. He creates  the music and  crafts the collectibles that bring your favorite stories to life.

I work to design programming to address the social issues our books explore in a palatable way for middle school, high school and college audiences. We use the comic to discuss issues of Black folks and Black women folks in ways that are easy for everyone to understand through entertaining and informative events.

Hannibal Tabu

I began writing for Project Wildfire because it was a paying gig, and I follow the David Blake rule in all things...the creator, Quinn McGowan, is from my home town, and we shared similar experiences, values and work ethics. I do this because find the characters compelling , and consider my chance to make an effect with the work a true honor.

Quinn McGowan

I created Wildfire because I wanted to see myself. I wanted to see the kids from my block. I wanted to validate our desire and our worthiness to save the world.  I hope you, the readers, can also see yourselves, and in time hear the echoes of your own voice.
